Holiday cottages for 6 in Yorkshire, England

The town of Knaresborough in Yorkshire, near the Dales and Harrogate, is highly recommended for a self catering holiday. It is a most attractive town with a large proportion of stone buildings. The impressive viaduct over the River Nidd is the subject of many tourist photographs. Rowing boats and pleasure boats scuttle over the surface of the water as people row and mess about on the river during the summer.

Yorkshire is a fabulous county in the north of England for outdoor holidays. The Yorkshire Dales and Yorkshire Moors attract walkers and ramblers. The rocky escapements and limestone pavements are interesting to anyone who has never seen them before. The city of York with its historic walled section is atmospheric and delightful to visit. There are always plenty of tourists visiting York which attract the associated tourist activities such as river boat rides, ghost and walking tours, street entertainers and numerous eateries and pubs all competing to attract visitors.

Along the coast, the old fashioned seaside towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey and Bridlington cater for days and holidays by the sea. Although Yorkshire is England's largest county (now divided into south, north, east and west) with a car it is possible to see all the places of personal interest to you. Some people like to stay in the country not too far from the coast to make the most of the seaside and Moors with days out to York and other places inland.
